There are many tools out there to help you with home buying and selling transactions, so it may not be apparent how working with a Realtor can make a big difference.
Your Realtor is your Trusted Guide and local expert, knowledgeable about your community’s market conditions and what you can expect during the home buying and selling process. Realtors are dedicated to life-long learning. Each year, Realtors take education courses to increase their knowledge of the industry – these courses cover everything from condos to single family homes, buying, selling and more.
Realtors are also committed to a strict code of ethics known as the Realtor Code. As part of this code, they are committed to professional competent service, absolute honesty and integrity in business dealings, and cooperation with and fairness to all. Your Realtor will always work in your best interests to help you achieve your goals.
Buying or selling a home is a complicated legal process and can be hard to navigate. Your Realtor has experience in guiding people through the ins and outs of real estate. They can help you find the right home for your family, price and market your current home, and navigate complex paperwork. They also have exclusive access to the Nova Scotia Association of REALTORS® MLS® System, which is the single most powerful tool for buying and selling a home in our province.
Here are just a few questions that your Realtor may ask you when you first meet:
1) Why do you want to buy a home and how does this house fit into your long-term goals?
2) What are your must-haves, and what don’t you want in a home? Many buyers find wish lists helpful.
3) How long do you plan on living in your next home? Is it your “forever” home, or are you buying a “starter” home, with plans to move-up?
4) Have you considered all the extra costs including Deed Transfer Tax, property tax, inspections, etc?
5) What are you looking for in a community? What amenities?
